SPECIAL GUEST: GREG USSEGLIO
Gregory began his studies in the wine industry at the age of 11. With specialized studies in wine, soils, agro-food processing and global wine education, this training lasted until he was 18 years old.
Following that Gregory studied at the Wine & Spirit Orange University (Au Lycée-Viti-Vinicoled’Orange) with concentration on wine commerce and marketing to have a knowledge of the different wine markets processes.
After these studies, the TORBRECK estate in Barossa Valley Australia welcomed him for a year in which he experienced many different winemaking techniques there, particularly involving the Syrah and Grenache Noir grape varieties. The estate then entrusted him to help with marketing exclusively in Australia territory.
After this endeavor, Gregory returned to France and joined the family estate in January 2012 with many ideas in mind to advance and evolve his spirits family’s Domaine. For 4 years he worked in the property’s vines & grape growing sector with his father Jean-Pierre. He conducted in-depth studies on their soils and vineyard plantings as he feels strongly that they are the base for an exceptional product. He then passed the torch of this position to his younger brother Maxime Usseglio.
Today, he leads the family business in their marketing of the wines as well as participating together with his father and uncle Thierry in the entire vine cycle activities from budbreak to harvest, choosing the blends for the wines and aging the wines.
He is proud to collaborate with his family on new cuvees & progressive ideas for the Domaine while greatly respecting his ancestors and steeped family traditions.
