BACKGROUND ON ELLMAN WINES:
Ellman Family Vineyards presents boutique wines designed for the wine enthusiast who wants to create a memorable experience with every lasting sip. Ten years in development, these wines come from the finest vineyards in the Napa Valley and Sonoma Coast regions. The Ellman brothers have always had a deep affinity for food, wine and friendship. This led to the creation of Ellman Family Vineyards in 2005, first as a hobby, but quickly expanding into a successful wine business. Today, Ellman Family Vineyards is considered a top boutique wine that appeals to the wine enthusiast who enjoys pairing great wine with great food and great friends.
“Our wines encompass the finest flavors from the different regions across the Napa Valley and Sonoma Coast regions. By exploring these different areas, we’ve been able to hand-pick the grapes from premium vineyards and create our Pinot Noirs, Red Blends and Sauvignon Blanc. As the icing on the cake, we were fortunate to purchase a 14-acre vineyard in Napa on land that borders the famed Silverado Trail. We´re proud to say that our grapes currently supply Caymus Vineyards, which is one of the great Cabernet brands in Napa and will continue to do so in the future.” The original water tower and barn are key features on the property as well as the sprawling vines and soon to be new home which will keep with the time-honored tradition of the area. What began as a dream for two brothers from Durban, South Africa, has become a reality.

ABOUT THE WINEMAKER: Andy Erickson
Without a doubt, Andy Erickson has made a profound name for himself in the winemaking world with his roots deep into the heart of Napa Valley. Andy is one of Napa Valley's most accomplished winemakers with his resume being a “whos-who list” of elite Napa wineries including Screaming Eagles, Harlan Estate, Dalla Valle, Favia, Seven Apart, ELLMAN and To Kalon Vineyard Company.
Andy brings to the winemaking at ELLMAN our shared values of family and friendship. His rich understanding of Napa Valley and his thoughtful approach in the vineyard and cellar, gives our wines and our estate the opportunity to grow into the multi-generational, family endeavor we dream of. Andy’s body of work as a winemaker is revered and stands alone in Napa. But it is his respect for his mentors, his eagerness to collaborate with vintners and winegrowers, and his focus on nurturing Napa’s next generation of winemakers that cause us to be elated to call Andy our winemaker and friend.
ABOUT THE PROPRIETOR(s): Neil Ellman + Lance Ellman
NEIL: Neil moved to the United States from South Africa at the age of five. Upon graduating from college, Neil lived in Phoenix, Tennessee, and Los Angeles, working for the family mattress manufacturing business. As a third generation manufacturer, Neil continues to be the creative force behind his family business, overseeing sales and marketing. At one point, that business had him residing in California. It was during this time that Neil developed an affinity for Napa and a desire to be in the wine business. He considers himself fortunate to have been able to marry his passion for business and entrepreneurship with his love of great wine. Neil, his wife and two children currently reside in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
LANCE: Born in South Africa, Lance was only a baby when the family settled in the United States. After college, Lance entered the family mattress business to work alongside his brother, Neil. Whether he is managing facilities and machinery or crushing grapes, Lance is the operational force behind the success of the family business. Having been exposed to some of the finest wines, Lance knew that one day, there would be an Ellman Family Vineyards that would produce wines from the most distinguished regions in northern California. Lance, his wife, and two children currently reside in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
